
A message from Clive (Building Renovation Project Manager)
“Following confirmation of a successful grant application from the Government’s Community Ownership Fund we are now finalising the drawings and specification for the refurbishment and improvements of The Chequers, Roxwell.
We would now like to hear from any Main Contractor who would like to be included in the tender list for the works.
The works consist of the general refurbishment of the pub and the first floor tenants accommodation, together with improvements to the toilets, the front entrance, the bar, a new commercial kitchen, complete re-wiring, replacement of the boiler and oil tank, and drainage and external works. The value of the works is likely to be in the order of £150,000 to £175,000 + VAT.
We hope to issue the tender documentation early February and will be giving contractors four weeks to return their quotations. The tenders will then be assessed, and a Letter of Intent issued to the favoured Contractor by mid March. It is hoped that the works will commence on site early April 2024 and be completed on site early November 2024.
The works will be carried out under a JCT Minor Works contract with LAD’s set at £500 per week.”
