Grant Funding
We had investment from UK Government in the form of a successful application to the Community Ownership Fund – this directly helped us purchase The Chequers for the community.
Tom Amos Charity awarded us a grant towards the building of the disabled toilet and baby change facilities in our community pub. The charity supports the residents of Little Waltham, Chelmsford, Uttlesford and Braintree for a variety of community-driven benefits.
We received funding from the Essex County Council Locality Fund for some of our publicity costs to raise shares and donations for the cause.

Rodrigues Interiors is a local interior design company who has re-designed The Chequers inside. We are grateful for all the expertise Natalie has volunteered to bring together a revitalised interior look for our lovely pub. We know you will love it just as much as we do!
The garden was an EPIC effort the summer of 2024 and huge thanks go to these heroes shown above in their quest to give supplies and labour at free or reduced costs.
