Today has been an exciting morning at Save The Chequers when we found opened the post to find we are the National Runner Up for the CAMRA Pub Saving Award 2024!
The Pub Saving Award recognises people that have come together to save a pub that would have otherwise been demolished or converted to another use. It aims to secure publicity for pub-saving campaigns to encourage others to save their local. I think we all agree this is very, very important!!
This is a brilliant recognition of everyone’s hard work – from shareholders to supporters to volunteers to the committee members themselves. They say it takes a village to raise a child – well, it takes a village (and more!) to resurrect a pub – and we have DONE IT!
Give yourself a pat on the back tonight and raise a glass. An award giving will take place in the early part of the year!
We can’t thank CAMRA enough for the support they have given us to date and this award tops the incredible year of progress for us.
