We are now seeking a tenant for the pub – get in touch if interested.
We are being supported by the Roxwell Pumpkin Trail again this year – get your clue sheets at the ready!
Building works are underway with contractors and volunteer assistance
We work with new partnerships, grant funding organisations and companies all the time and we like to thank them and spotlight their contribution here:
Northwood Estate & Letting Agents has kindly helped fulfill our garden landscaping vision by donating the cost of the turf. Northwood is one of Chelmsford’s leading estate agents, located on New London Road. Directors Zaman Sheikh & Amina Sheikh and their friendly team of property experts have a full range of sales, lettings and property management services to offer to the local community.
Tom Amos Charity has awarded us a grant towards the building of the disabled toilet and baby change facilities in our community pub. The charity supports the residents of Little Waltham, Chelmsford, Uttlesford and Braintree for a variety of community-driven benefits.
The Chequers Inn has been the country pub at the heart of Roxwell for over 250 years. We want it remain here – now and for generations to come.
The Roxwell Chequers Community Benefit Society has been formed to save The Chequers and secure its long term future. The photos above show supporters outside the pub on 9th August (left) when we launched our pledge campaign and then on 13th April (right) when we put up the sold sign.
The RCCBS Management Committee, who are a small group of unpaid volunteers, remain busy co-ordinating refurbishment and re-opening activities – there is a lot to do to get our lovely Chequers ready to open.
Remember you can still donate to the cause at any time and it is gratefully received. Thank you.
